L.A. Honda World Racing powered by LAP Motorsports will field three new Honda Civic TCR’s for the 2019 season opener at Daytona in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.
2012 Series Champion Mike LaMarra & veteran Mat Pombo will continue to sport the 73 numberplate on their new LA Honda World Racing Civic TCR and look to start the 2019 championship the way they ended last year, on the top step of the podium!
Tearing up the competition the last few years behind the wheel of a Honda and anything else with a throttle pedal, Tom O’Gorman will team up with Shelby Blackstock, who’s returning to IMSA after a few years in open wheel competition. Tom and Shelby will share their talents in the 37 LA Honda World Racing TCR.
Max Faulkner and Colin Mullan battled door to door the entire 2018 ST season for a spot on the podium. The young duo will team up in the 52 Honda Civic TCR and are eager to continue flexing their muscles to the rest of the competition.
“What a way to celebrate LAP Motorsports’ 10th anniversary. To have our road race program competing at the highest level in the US, in IMSA on their 50th anniversary, it couldn’t be any more exciting” Stated team principal Luis Perocarpi. ”With all the new manufacturers and teams entering the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR championship, it will be the most competitive racing in the country. We have put a significant amount of effort into our transition from ST to TCR and we have assembled a very strong driver line up. We know it won’t be easy but every single team member is ready for the new Challenge!”
